Permission to Play!
Date: Saturday, September 23
Time: 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Did you purchase a Gelli plate and now you are not sure what to do with it? Or are you just looking for new ways to create prints with your Gelli plate? If you answered yes to either question, then this workshop is for you! In this class you will learn many creative ways to use your Gelli plate to create beautiful prints you can use for cards, your journal, or mixed media projects! We will focus on creating multiple layers. Mixed media design is all about working in layers to create depth and mystery in artwork. We will be playing with various techniques and supplies including masking, tape, stencils, sprays, stamps, paints, ink, cabbage, lotus root - to create multiple layers of textures and designs….. Huh? Did I say cabbage and lotus root? You have to take the class to find out more!
Experimentation and playing with the Gelli plate leads to happy accidents and creates the best designs! Students should bring: Gelli plate (any size), brayer, handful of acrylic paints, stack of paper (can be junk papers – old books, scrap paper you no longer like, deli paper, watercolor paper, etc…)
The following list is nice to bring but you do not need for this class: Spray Inks, Ink Pad, stencils, stamps, corrugated cardboard, fake flowers, leaves, anything with a texture or shape. I will bring many supplies to play with.
This class is for both beginners and seasoned Gelli users.
