Collage with Kerry
Date: Saturday, April 29
Time: 1:30 - 4:30 PM
We are excited to welcome back one of our newest instructors, Kerry Molina. Her work has been featured in Somerset Studio and Cloth Paper Scissors (3 times), and she has a full article coming out in the summer edition of Somerset Studio! On a local level, Kerry's artwork has made into a large banner to be hung in Historic Manassas for the 2017 Banner Art Walking Tour in April. She wanted to scale down the project and share it with you in this class!
In this 3 hour workshop, you will create a 12 x 18 collage using various types of papers including but not limited to scrapbook paper, book pages and washi tape. This collage will be abstract and will focus on three colors of your choosing. In the first part of the class, you will paint and stamp your own papers that will be incorporated into the collage. You'll also have the opportunity to work with Gelli Plates.
Students should bring: Kerry will have a variety of papers there for you to use, but you should bring some of your own too. Perhaps think of three colors you want to use ahead of time and pull papers and tapes from your stash. Also bring your favorite rubber stamps, Black StazOn inkpad and gel gloss medium. If you have a Gelli Plate, you are welcome to bring that as well.
All classes must be prepaid in order
to reserve your spot. Payments are cheerfully refunded
up to 48 hours prior to the class.
